Production Porocess
The artist first breaks down the pet photographs into multiple layers, arranging them layer by layer on dozens of acrylic panels, and then carefully ‘carves’ lines, shadows, and details into the surface of each layer with a professional carving knife (which sometimes requires tens of thousands of acts of repetitive knife-carving).
Through precise alignment and superimposition, the final result is a three-dimensional effect that seems to leap off the page. The work retains the delicate texture of hand-carving, but is also light and airy due to its transparent material, making it ideal for pet memorial gifts or home décor.
